Urushi Bamboo Spoons

Mori Kowa is a master of Japanese Urushi, a very rare lacquer technique. Carved bamboo forms were laboriously hand dipped in thin coats of natural tree lacquer, polished, and dried between layers, to develop a lustrous matte black surface.
